Our Board is comprised of persons of achievement whose reputation within our community is one of leadership and integrity. We count on our board members for governance and active participation in furthering the mission of Interfaith Community Partners.

Activities of the Board The Board Members also:

  • Assist in developing community awareness
  • Participate in fundraising
  • Avoid conflicts of interest
  • Provide feedback to the president about the operation of the organization
  • Help the board fulfill its’ fiduciary responsibility
  • Provide a leadership role in fund development, including a reasonable personal gift

Kathleen B. King ~ President

Hometown: Western Springs

Background: Kathleen is a college instructor with experience as an administrator at the K-12 level. She has conducted the ICP volunteer training for over ten years, joining the ICP Board in 2011.

Bob Grecco

Hometown: Western Springs

Background: Bob has been working as a CPA in Public Accounting for 35 years.Bob is married to his wife of 32 years, Ginny, who you may know        from our Theatre benefits. Ginny chairs the reception committee. He has 2 daughters; Georgann, 26 and Kathleen, 22. Bob is active in the St. John of the Cross traditional choir. Other community involvement: Bob serves on the board at Seguin, RCA an advocate agency for the developmentally disabled. He is a member of the St. John of the Cross Traditional Choir and the SJC Men’s Club and supports many other local and national non-profit initiatives.

Larry C. Glasscock

Hometown: Indian Head Park

Background: I have served as a board member of ICP since 2009 and a transportation volunteer since 2005 & remain an active volunteer at my church & library.  Prior to retirement in 2003, I worked 40 years in the banking industry and in bank regulation.

Herbert A. Smyers ~ Secretary

Hometown: Western Springs Background: As Business Manager of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, Herb Smyers administered a ten million dollar portfolio, implemented information technology upgrades and directed maintenance of the church’s five-building campus. For one major project, he oversaw extensive improvements to the 100-year old main sanctuary building and surrounding lawns while maintaining church operations throughout the construction period and navigating the city’s zoning process. Herb had previously worked as Treasurer and Director of Business Affairs for the Presbytery of Chicago; and as Controller and Vice President of operations for manufacturing, chemical process, and warehousing corporations. Since retiring last August, Herb has been providing care-partner transportation for Interfaith Community Partners and serving on the organization’s board. He is an elder of the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs and a former member of the Associate Board of La Grange Memorial Hospital. Herb and his wife, Joyce, are 39-year residents of Western Springs and have two grown children, Kurt and Sharon, and two grandchildren, Mary and Wyatt.

David Boxell ~ Vice President

Hometown: Western Springs Background: Retired Human Resource Executive with over 40 years experience with the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company.  Retired as Vice President of Personnel in 2001.  Member of Presbyterian Church of Western Springs for 38 years and have served in various officer positions including Elder, Deacon, and Chairperson Of Personnel Committee   May volunteer positions since retirement including chairing the Personnel Committee for the Presbytery of Chicago   Lives in Western Springs with his wife.  Have three adult children and five grandchildren

Bob Weiler ~ Treasurer

Hometown:  La Grange Park

Background:  Bob has been a resident of La Grange Park for the past 40 years and is a member of St. Louise de Marillac Church. He has been a faithful volunteer since early 2013 and joined the Board of Directors in December  of that year.  Prior to providing transportation for our care partners, Bob was enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and has spent the last 35 years in tax preparation and finance.
